At the Museum

So the exhibit I mentioned at the British Museum? Living and Dying-- it's about how people from across the world make sense of their lives and their mortality. How they face it, deal with, try to prevent it, accept it. How they relate to ancestors, or animals, or God. How they use shamans, Western medicine, and prayers to prevent death or predict life. Very, very interesting. I felt absolutely connected in that exhibition hall. Everyone everywhere deals with so much of the same things, and we all-- in some way-- deal with it. And all those varying methods somehow seem exactly the same.

And the Picasso exhibit-- just pen and ink sketches but so moving. The Vollard Suite. Gorgeous.

Be sure to check out my morning post about the Banqueting House, below, if you missed it.
